Invited - One Day Pre-Conference Workshop on "Internet of Things" - Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

S.V.S College of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu has scheduled its Second IEEE International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Communication Technologies (IEEE ICECCT) from 22 - 24, February 2017. Sincere thanks to the organizers for inviting us to offer a one day pre-conference workshop on "Internet of Things" on 21 - 02 - 2017, Tuesday.

The session began with an inaugural function followed by an online talk on Overview and Architecture of IoT by Prof. Ravindra G Dastikop using Google Hangouts. Please click here for Porf. Dastikop's One Minute Videos.

Then a typical Architecture of IoT using Arduino and LM35 & LDR as case-study was discussed.

Further sessions were on IoT micro-controllers (Arduino), Sensors like LM35 and Modules (Bluetooth and Wifi). Participants tried hello world program of hardware i.e basic LED blink on Arduino with external LEDs (image below) and then worked with LM35 - analog temperature sensor. Later participants were demonstrated with LM35 controlled AC table fan using relay switch which will be ON after crossing a pre-defined temperature value (image below). Then participants worked with Bluetooth module to control external led on Arduino followed by demonstration on Bluetooth controlled (using ArduDroid app on Android) bulb. Post lunch the hands-on sessions were on Arduino with ESP8266 wifi module to take LM35 values to ThingSpeak and to analyze them.

I feel happy to inform that my journey with IoT started from this very place on 4th March, 2015 when I just accompanied Prof. Ravindra G Dastikop for his pre-conference workshop on IoT at 1st International conference ICECCT 2015conducted at SVS college of Engineering , Coimbatore. I thank Prof. Dastikop sir and SVS Management for giving me this opportunity.
