Hearty thanks to the organizers at KLEIT, Hubli ISE Dept for inviting Prof. Govind G N and me to conduct this 2 days hands-on session on IoT with Cloud being held on 2 split days - 7th Feb and 14th Feb, 2017 for 6th sem ISE students as a part of college's INSPIRE activity.
On 7th Feb, 2017 (day - 1) we had a general introduction to Cloud Computing & IoT.
Later participants tried hands-on: Google Forms, Quizzes, SpreadSheets with SQL Queries, Google Documents with editing in regional language, Google Slides, Google URL Shortener, Blogger and embedding all the above in Blogs along with use of Gadgets.. Participants enjoyed creating their own blogs.
Post lunch on day-1, participants tried hands-on Arduino UNO and performed various experiments using LEDs & LM35. Demonstration of LM35 temperature sensor controlled real fan using relay switches was shown.

Post lunch, participants worked with ESP8266 Wifi module and ThingSpeak to send LM35 sensor values to cloud for analytics. Use of RaspberryPi 3 for Image Processing using IBM Visual Recognition APIs was discussed. Steps involved in use of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google Maps APIs were shown. The session ended with introduction to IoT and Cloud project ideas..
