Adobe Developer Enablement workshop (ADEW) Certification, to be held on the 29th of July at the Nimhans Conventions Center, Bangalore. i.e., the last day of the Adobe Flash Platform Summit 2011.
Overview
The Adobe Developer Enablement Workshops (ADEW) are a series of power workshops designed to create experts in the area of RIA development. ADEW will enable developers, architects, technical leads and technology managers to acquire the skills, expertise and insights that would help them with developing, designing and architecting enterprise grade RIA solutions.
Adobe is rolling out the ADEW workshops for the first time in AFPS 2011. This is an inaugural launch with 6 different workshops being organized. As this is an inaugural launch, the workshop day at AFPS 2011 will feature only Level 1 workshops. Level 2 and Level 3 workshops are likely to have Level 1 workshops as pre-requisites. Progressively, Adobe will roll out Level 2 and Level 3 workshops, in addition to other Level 1 workshops. The availability of these will be announced through standard Adobe channels.What are the Workshops in Level 1? ADEW workshops are crafted by experts in RIA development and architecture, both from within Adobe as well as the Adobe Partner ecosystem. The goal of this series of workshops is to provide you with unique insights and skills that make you a leader in the world of Web, Device and Desktop applications.

What you can expect :
While every level of the ADEW will provide a different set of takeaways, overall every attendee will go away with some of the following after successful completion of every workshop:
- Concept: When the attendee learns about a new concept and understands its importance and relevance to the RIA eco-system.
- Inspiration: When an attendee goes beyond understanding a concept to appreciating why it is relevant AND important. This will prompt the attendee to take the concept or technology further by exercising his or her own imagination.
- Skills: When an attendee understands the core components of the technology and can take an idea and create the plan to realize the idea through the best use of our technology.
- Expertise: When an attendee becomes the person others turn to get help and inspiration to excel with the Adobe developer platforms.
- Architect: Many RIAs, especially enterprise RIAs, are non-trivial applications. They need to connect with Enterprise data like ERP, CRM, etc and be performant at that. Architect level workshops will ensure Architects can chart a course to building performant, relevant and experiential RIAs that result in irrefutable customer value.
- Lead teams: RIAs are a unique breed of applications that straddle devices, desktops, televisions and the web. To lead a team building RIAs is a unique skill that a few talented Leads possess. Workshops targeting RIA team leadership will ensure you are equipped to get the most out of your teams when building RIAs.
- Manage teams: Managing RIA teams and products require unique skills and management thinking. As mentioned previously, RIAs are unique and Management workshops will help you ensure delivery of your RIA within Schedule & Budget with unflinching Quality.
- Business thinking: Attendees of business workshops will understand the exciting world of creating customer value with RIAs and ensuring this value is realized through optimal levels of imagination, innovation and execution.
Every workshop will outline which of these value elements you will gain on completion of the workshop. Obviously, the higher the level of the workshop, the higher the level of value provided.
Goal
An attendee of a Level 1 workshop will be able to understand a new concept or technology and dive deep into what it means. Further, the attendee will be able to appreciate how it is useful in the context of consumer or enterprise applications.
Structure
BYOL (Bring your own laptop). Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptop. You will be provided with software, or instructions to obtain software as appropriate. Software provided for the workshop may be valid for the period of the workshop only. Attendees may choose to attend the workshop without a laptop also.
Delivery
Content will be delivered by an inspirational technologist who can explain the importance and relevance of a technology or concept, explain how it is relevant and fits into various industry scenarios.

Certification Criteria
- Successful attendance of Workshop for entire duration
- Active participation during workshop
- There may be a quiz at the end of the workshop that the attendee will have to successfully complete
