Interview Tips | Dress Code | The D-Day ....

Hi All ! I found the below interview tips / excerpts from Internet, thought of sharing the same...

Read On:
"You ought to behave like an ‘angel’ all through the interview, if you really want to win through it."
Please do not consider interview an overtly stress inducing process.
It is not a supernatural process either.
Stars and Zodiac do not determine your destiny.
Your attitude toward life does.
Congeniality, honesty and diligence reap rich dividends in life. Besides these adjectives the way you articulate your limbs and your talk determines during an interview, your success to a greater extent.
The curtain-raiser:
The night before the interview has to be the most tranquil night of your life.
You need to relax and unwind greatly during that time.
Indulge in a light talk with your parents, friends and siblings.
Do something that you love doing: playing guitar, reading books, walking, jogging, cycling and any of these that will really heighten your spirits.
Please do not indulge in deep conversations that could tax you mentally.
Brainstorming and other things on the night before the interview might show stress on your face.
It may accentuate ‘anxiety’ and you might mumble or forget to speak what you are supposed to on the interview day. Hence stay cool. Relax!

The D-Day:

Be pleasant all the way to your interview.

Wear a smile on your face. A pleasant smile. Not an exaggerated one.

Keep the valuables like pen, photocopies, certificates all in a personal organizer (A Good File).

This shows that you are organized. Carry it decently in one of your hands without feeling the weight or messing it up.

Put the copies of certificates in a logical sequence of preference. Do not mess up in front of the interviewer.

Dress Code:

Men can wear contrastive shades. But well ironed shirts, trousers and complementary tie and well polished footwear.

Women too can wear anything that makes them feel comfortable a Shalwar Kameez or a Saree (A decent, sober one not glaringly jazzy. It’s better for women to wear minimal jewelry). Groom yourself aptly: shaving the beard, trimming hair and moustache et al.

Walking into the room:

Do not get fidgety before being called for the interview.

Respond to your interview call politely.

Do not show anxiety.

Pace towards the room rhythmically.

Once you enter into the room close the door politely behind you.

Do not slam open into the interview room.

Do not slam the door behind you.

Take your position decently.

Facing the interviewer:

Greet the interviewer politely.

Do not initiate a handshake until initiated from the other end.

Sit comfortably in the chair.

Do not sit too relaxed, sinking into the chair legs wide apart.

Do not bend and relax your arms on the interviewer’s table.

This may look uncouth.

Keep your palms in your lap.

When asked for certificates show them to the interviewer systematically and responsibly.

Maintain an eye-contact while answering. Do not look somewhere else.

Answer only when the interviewer stops questioning.

Do not break his/her flow.

Do not display impatience while the interviewer takes a call or talks to someone else in the organization.

Do not keep looking at your watch.

This might annoy the interviewer terribly.

Sit relaxed during that time. Answer appropriately and honestly.

Do not feign an answer. Your ignorance might become evident.

Be aware of the interview essentials.

Rehearse it with your friends and seniors and see how you perform.

Here’s wishing you success!
